Managing Your Website's Content

Fresh content will keep visitors coming back.

Content ManagementNow that your Website is up and running, you can sit back and relax, right? Wrong! In fact, a Website is never completely done. The most successful Websites are updated frequently and it's no secret that the search engines love NEW content, so you'll also want to add new pages to your site often to increase your search engine rankings.

Products, services, seasons, and advertising strategies change constantly, especially in the Internet marketplace where “We’ll get back to you soon” better mean “Within the hour” or else your customer thinks you’re not interested in getting their business.

Check your images and copy often to make sure they’re fresh and appropriate. Part of keeping your customers coming back to your site is offering something new on a regular basis. Contests, product/service offerings, industry news, and helpful tips are just a few possibilities for updating your content. Don't keep holiday images on your site past the season. Your Website should reflect how you run your business so don't keep your “Valentine’s Day Sale” on your site in July.

As a Webeze client, you have several options to ensure your site stays current. Which option you choose will depend on several factors including time, resources and finances.

Utilize in-house staff.

If you have an in-house IT department (or someone you can outsource to) who is proficient with Dreamweaver CS4 or comparable HTML authoring editors, you can retain them manage your site. We highly recommend that you do NOT give this important job to just anyone that says "sure, I know how to do web pages." You've invested a lot of time and resources into your website to get it to the stage it is today; make sure whomever you work with maintains the website's integrity and knows to make back-ups of your pages prior to making major edits.

Webeze maintenance.

Once your site is live, we provide 30 days of free maintenance. This allows you to make unlimited minor changes to all of the existing pages on your site. After 30 days, maintenance is billed on an hourly basis with ½ hour increments. On a case-by-case basis we may offer a maintenance agreement to a client for a monthly or yearly fee. We can also provide maintenance/support on a per case/project basis and quote a flat fee for this service.

Use a (CMS) content management system.

A content management system (CMS) is a tool that allows a user who is not proficient in HTML to easily edit their website using a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) tool (script). We offer two unique Content Management System tools that allow you to edit both static and dynamic pages, depending on how your site is constructed and, of course, your unique needs.

Content is and will always be "king" so be sure adding new content to your site on a frequent basis is a priority.
