I'll Gladly Pay You Sometime For a Job Performed Today...Maybe

I wish I could say that the following video is completely tongue-in-cheek, but the fact of the matter is we get asked so often if we can just "come up with a little something" before a client commits to a project.  To which our answer is always no -- and sometimes people are genuinely perplexed by this response. 

After all, if we're such great designers/developers, surely we have confidence in our work and don't mind giving a little preview.  But we do mind.  For lots of reasons.  Which is why we don't do spec work.  Ever. 

It's a pretty funny video and you can probably relate, no matter what business you're in.  My favorite line... "OK, we'll pay this this time, but what we're going to need you to do is, uh, show us how you made it so we can do it on our own, in-house, from now on."  Enough said!
